Most Popular Kinds Of Tea Explained
There are different kinds of tea, but I will talk about 3 of them (black tea, green tea and white tea).
Black Tea is most popular in the West. It is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than the more lightly oxidized teas. It is also “true†tea and is made from leaves too. Black tea retains its flavor for several years. It is also known as Red tea in the Chinese culture.
White tea is tea made from new growth buds and young leaves which have been steamed or fried to inactivate polyphenol oxidation, and then dried. The buds may be shielded from sunlight to prevent formation of chlorophyll. White tea therefore retains the high concentrations of catechins which are present in fresh tea leaves.
Green tea is made from more mature tea leaves than white tea, and may be withered prior to steaming or firing. Because of the different technologies during manufacturing the 3 kind of tea have not only different taste but event different health benefits.
What I suggest is to try the 3 types of tea and you will decide for yourself what is better for you. You should know to lose weight there is no doubt that green tea helps most.
In the next posts I am going to talk about the health benefits of black and white tea. I think they are not less important than green tea.
