What is Your Favorite Tea or Coffee Break Snack?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Tell me, what’s your favorite morning coffee snack?

protidietcookiesIs it some sort of energy bar, or a fresh fruit, perhaps? Or what about low fat and low calories cookies and crackers, popcorns and chips? No wait, let me guess you have a sweet tooth and love sweets with your coffee if I am right then join the club :)

Popcorns are not healthy, you know. It’ll be better if you substitute them for corn or potato chips. As for the sweets - not healthy, so avoid them or try substituting them for low or sugar free cookies with fewer calories and low fat.

I have a sweet tooth myself and it seemed like I would never be able to give up sweets until I tried a free sample of some amazingly delicious cookies I ordered online, which turned out to be high protein treats with fewer calories.

protidietcookiesThe ProtiDiet Cookies (that’s their name) taste great with my morning coffee and afternoon glass of skim milk. The directions for consumption clearly advise to eat only one cookie per day (preferably in the morning). If you don’t believe me you have to try them for yourself.

Despite the directions I secretly take another cookie in the late afternoon, just after work. It gives me the great advantage of not being hungry until I get home and prepare the dinner for my family.

ProtiDiet Cookies make you feel satisfied for a few hours, so a single cookie is the perfect diet breakfast (and for me the perfect snack while stuck in traffic on my way home from work).

If you still wonder whether to try those tasty cookies, I think the four different flavors could make up your mind: Chocolate, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter, and Vanilla Butter. Each box contains 7 servings for every day of the week. Of course the more boxes you order, the bigger the savings are.

How Do You Like Your Coffee?

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

I love drinking coffee, and do you? Actually, I like to take my coffee two times a day – one in the morning (black with no cream and a little sugar) and one in the late afternoon (with cream and no sugar). Strange coffee habit, but that’s me, and how about you? How do you like your coffee?

how do you like your coffeeI prefer espresso for which I have my own espresso machine. But what I found recently is the fact that espresso coffee has less caffeine than the Oriental (aka Turkish) coffee, which I think is very odd but yet it has its logical explanation:

The more the water seeps through the coffee grind, the more caffeine is absorbed into the coffee itself. The water runs through the coffee grind for the espresso for about 20–30 seconds tops, whereas the water in the drip brew machines seeps through the coffee grind longer for as 4–5 minutes, which makes the coffee much stronger.

So if you really love stronger coffee, but you are still not ready to give up on you favorite espresso, then I suggest you to try a French press coffee.
